I think in terms of who the characters are, Kate is really very much like Jo. Totally the "wrong side of the tracks" girl.

I think in terms of characters, Pacey and Jack are far more alike than Sawyer and Pacey. I mean, Pacey was a bit of a putz at times (an adorable one) but they are both very heroic in an accidental kind of way. (And both have similar Daddy issues! Both are drunks who wanted their kid to be something they weren't. Hehe.)

I think Pacey was seen as the 'badboy' only because he liked to goof off & didn't take things too seriously (or seriously enough, depending on how you look at it.) He never was actually a badboy. When it comes down to it I find him to be one of the most "moral" and "upright" characters in Dawson's Creek. He followed his heart but at the same time wasn't afraid to speak his mind. He was selfless and certainly the "hero."

Whereas on the flipside, Dawson was the epitome of selfish time and time again.

So for me P/Jo and Jack/Kate are incredibly similar - though I've heard the argument the other way around several times - which boggles my mind.

It's amazing to me that I can still have conversations like this about DC. Hehe.
