→ bob_radar posted another of her (awesome) vidding discussions. This one is about lyrics and literalism and really made me think. (Also? She is amazing for hosting and writing up these thoughtful discussions. More vidding meta is always good!)

→ In the midst of the two short lj outages this week. I discovered a geektastically useful site: Is it down for everyone, or just me? If I had a penny for every time I'd asked myself that question I'd need a bigger piggy bank!

→ The bsg_slashathon was a raging success. (Forty-nine fics! My word!) And here's the round up post for those of you not watching the comm. There's a ton of great stuff over there to r&r!

→ The other night while watching True Blood, there was scene where one character eats pancakes. (At least they looked like pancakes to me, they called them something else.) So, in the middle of the night, I went downstairs and made pancakes from scratch. I seriously need to learn to control these kinds of impulses. (It doesn't help that the buffer was stuck on that scene for ages. I couldn't help myself!)

→ I'm addicted to fivethirtyeight.com! There's like a week until the elections and I've got ants in my pants. I want it over already. Not knowing is pure torture.

→ There have been so many great vids posted lately in connection with vidukon. Everyone should head on over to the comm to check 'em out. Lots of sensational vid shows to plow through as well.

→ I recently watched the best Claire (LOST) character study I've ever seen. It's called My Skin and is by FadingSpark of YT and LVI. So many Claire vids tie her inextricably with Charlie, or are AU relationship centric (Desmond, Sawyer, Locke, Ethan, KATE, you name it.) But this is the first vid that I have seen that's ever done real justice to the character and all that she's been through. I'm trying to get my hands on a downloadable copy, but for now I'll have to settle for watching it on youtube. FadingSpark has done a number of Claire vids, and from viewing My Skin you can tell she really and truly loves the character.

I'll link you to another vid of hers that I especially liked called Evening on the Ground it's Jack/Claire (that way, sort of?) and I love the song. She's done others for them as well.

- It's totally addicting. I should have warned you. Though it's very comforting too, which may be part of the addiction. Some days I tell myself, "I'm not going to go to fivethirtyeight today," and it never happens! but this is where I get most of my news since I've been avoiding other things. So for me it's fivethirtyeight and the links my flist (giandujakiss in particular) and people on twitter post. I guess that's not too bad. At least I'm not watching hours of news programming every day.

- They are so awesome! I want downloads so bad but so far she hasn't gotten back to me. I'm thinking of PMing her on LVI. She may not check her comments.
