→ bob_radar posted another of her (awesome) vidding discussions. This one is about lyrics and literalism and really made me think. (Also? She is amazing for hosting and writing up these thoughtful discussions. More vidding meta is always good!)

→ In the midst of the two short lj outages this week. I discovered a geektastically useful site: Is it down for everyone, or just me? If I had a penny for every time I'd asked myself that question I'd need a bigger piggy bank!

→ The bsg_slashathon was a raging success. (Forty-nine fics! My word!) And here's the round up post for those of you not watching the comm. There's a ton of great stuff over there to r&r!

→ The other night while watching True Blood, there was scene where one character eats pancakes. (At least they looked like pancakes to me, they called them something else.) So, in the middle of the night, I went downstairs and made pancakes from scratch. I seriously need to learn to control these kinds of impulses. (It doesn't help that the buffer was stuck on that scene for ages. I couldn't help myself!)

→ I'm addicted to fivethirtyeight.com! There's like a week until the elections and I've got ants in my pants. I want it over already. Not knowing is pure torture.

→ There have been so many great vids posted lately in connection with vidukon. Everyone should head on over to the comm to check 'em out. Lots of sensational vid shows to plow through as well.

→ I recently watched the best Claire (LOST) character study I've ever seen. It's called My Skin and is by FadingSpark of YT and LVI. So many Claire vids tie her inextricably with Charlie, or are AU relationship centric (Desmond, Sawyer, Locke, Ethan, KATE, you name it.) But this is the first vid that I have seen that's ever done real justice to the character and all that she's been through. I'm trying to get my hands on a downloadable copy, but for now I'll have to settle for watching it on youtube. FadingSpark has done a number of Claire vids, and from viewing My Skin you can tell she really and truly loves the character.

I'll link you to another vid of hers that I especially liked called Evening on the Ground it's Jack/Claire (that way, sort of?) and I love the song. She's done others for them as well.

→ I love fall weather. October is the best month ever! (Pardon the unintentional rhyming.)

→ You know what is strange? When you find a piece of flare on facebook that was obviously created with an icon you posted to livejournal. (FYI: The blue "I ♥ cylons" icon.)

→ theladyscribe asked for crack crossover pairings the other day and gave a list of fandoms. The best thing I could come up with was River Tam/Boromir (Firefly and Lord of the Rings). I thought, "now that is a crazy pairing!" But, you guys? It turned out so well. It's such a beautiful little piece that I think I might actually be in love with this pairing now. She's amazing! Who would have thunk it?!?! READ IT: River/Boromir, pg-ish? (FYI: I have literally had this open in a tab on my laptop for days so that I wouldn't forget to rec this fic to you!)

→ Also, sol_se recced this amazing John/Ronon (SGA) fic by mahoni called Elements of Language, nc17. And all I can say is that holy!crap people need to write this pairing way more often. Damn.

→ Also, my pal sionnain wrote a really intense (yet pg13) Sam/Leoben fic for the bsg_slashathon called Trump. I gotta say one thing, making out is very very good and that should totally happen on the show. They're all manly and pressing each other against walls and that is just hot.

→ Speaking of bsg_slashathon we're halfway through posting and we have a nice list of fics but we could always have more! And those people who have written so far would love some feedback! So here's the mid-event round up post if anybody's interested in checking that out! :)

→ I just got done encoding and uploading a video for VidUKon. But don't get too excited. It's not new. They wanted to use my Hard Core Logo video and I'm extremely flattered. Yay! I swear one of these days I will vid again!
