[livejournal.com profile] pretty_hostel made some cute 'short & sweet' picspams for the first three eps of Harper's Island. Ep 1, Ep 2, and Ep 3. They're very much a "snapshot" of the show and leave out a lot of the meat, but they're pretty and fun. She's also uploaded a "theme song" for each episode too. I particularly like Into the Fire. Check 'em out.

→ Speaking of awesome Harper's stuff, [livejournal.com profile] faerna made an animated mood theme for the show! I think I might just have to snag that one. Give the adorable That 70s Show a rest. I'm not sure why I hadn't seen this one before.

→ I kind of started watching American Dreams? Five eps in. Just something for fun. I'm charmed by it. Has anyone else watched? I think I'll keep it up. I find it enjoyable. I don't really have any spoilery remarks on what's happened so far. I will say that the chaotic family life (with four kids) and everyone talking over each other is kind of fun -- and I like the "journey" the mother is embarking on. I don't think I have seen Brittany Snow in anything before but I've definitely heard of her. I've seen previews and those Tyler Shields pics/vids too. But I swear at some point in the pilot I thought she was an Olsen twin. She kind of looks like them a bit, no? Especially in this. Only in certain shots though.

→ I was recently gifted an HD media player from a friend. I mentioned I was looking at a similar item and they happened to have a new one that they weren't ever planning on using, so I got lucky. It's a fairly small device that's pretty unobtrusive and it plugs into the back of the television. You can plug in your USB flash drive or external hard drive. So, now I'm able to play anything I rip/download on our big screen. It's got its own remote and it's just incredibly handy, plays all sorts of file types. Definitely recommend something similar to anyone who watches tv/movies on their computer. There are lots of different types of these on the market. Mine is by a company named prodigi -- though I'm sure there are others. Anyway, just wanted to share this "new" invention. It's like a whole new world. Not being bound to the computer -- haha.

Oh Harpers. I miss you lol I watched the first couple eps with Christi the other night and it was just as awesome.

American Dreams sounds very interesting. Also, I can totally see the Olsen's in that girl. Yup.

Totally considering buying that gadget next time I get paid. Definitely seems like something we could get use out of on like a daily basis lol

Hahaha, how did she like them?

Yeah she does look a bit like the Olsens but she's got her own look too. I think she looks less like them now that she's all grown up. :)

You definitely should. That one at amazon wasn't HD but it's like 35 bucks so that's not too bad at all. I say go for it!

I watched from beginning to end of American Dreams. I kinda love it and I love that Snow's character is so real that you have recurring cycles of liking her and wanting to punch her face. I like her best friend though, and I love her mom, who actually grows up and expands as much as her daughter does.

I haven't gotten that far but I'm sure looking forward to it. Her best friend is definitely interesting! I'm definitely excited to see where these characters end up at the end of three seasons. Too bad it was canceled.

American Dreams? YIPEE! I love that show, especially the theme song, and I was sad when NBC canceled it. I kept hoping Sam and Meg would get together. It was such a neat show. I love watching shows that take place in other time periods (Dr. Quinn, Christy, Star Trek, Swing Town, etc.).

I've seen Brittany Snow in the movie The Pacifier and I think she was in the movie John Tucker Must Die.

I'm so glad you're watching American Dreams. I want to start watching it again because it's such a neat show!

It was one of those shows that I always heard about but never really got a chance to watch. I'm making up for lost time apparently. It actually really seems like "your kind" of show, haha.

She's in this movie The Vicious Kind that looked pretty good but that I have yet to see.

I know only season one is on DVD, if you're planning on netflixing it, but if you want I can help you acquire the other episodes.
