→ So I was over at Oliv3r earlier and I saw this image for that new show Nikita (which I have no real interest in watching, especially now). Observe:

What? Am I the only one who has a problem with this? She's wearing no pants! And this is supposed to be her "kicking-butt" gear? Seriously? I guess maybe if she wasn't obviously about to go on a mission with no pants, it wouldn't be so bad. If she were laying in bed or having a bath or holding a glass of wine instead of a weapon perhaps. But otherwise... put on some pants. I mean, if you can take the time to put on what looks like extremely complicated gloves, you could at least put on some pants. S'all I'm saying!

→ I did not get a chance to watch The Walking Dead pilot last night so hopefully I'll get that shot today. I'm having reservations about it. I haven't really seen anybody talking about it. What did you guys think? (Unspoilery please.)

→ The Lost Ho!Ho!Ho! Sign-ups went up today. I signed up even though every single time I sign up to give a gift it kind of terrifies me ten seconds later. I think it should be fun anyway. Sign-ups last one week.

→ Speaking of ho!ho!ho!s I think I'm going to do that LJ wish list thing again this year. I may post that a little later.

→ If there were any sign of life in the Harper's Island fandom I might run the stocking stuffer exchange again this year but it's looking pretty grim. Hell, I don't even write it anymore. Even though I loved the heck out of that show it seems like it was just one of those things that never caught on in a fandom way. Sadly.

Like.. NOTHING. At all. I don't think she's ever had sex on the show. Well maybe once, but that was a flashback. Such a weird poster, really. I like it a lot and would rec it but yeah.. I don't understand that poster either.

OH! It's a remake of La Femme Nikita (which inspired Alias, among other things.) Weird - they're 8 eps in and none of the other promo material or images from the show, that I've found, are so gratuitous. Just looks like your usual spy drama.

Yep, it was a French movie, then it was remade as a U.S. movie (Point of No Return), then it became a U.S. (Canadian, actually, iirc) tv series.

Now apparently it was remade again as another U.S. tv series.

Nikita is so ninja she can ninja WITHOUT PANTS. *nods* ;) Ahem, seriously, that's really not a fair representation of the show because, other than the aforementioned scene in a bikini in the pilot, she doesn't run around in impractical, hypersexualized outfits like that. That's all just typical advertising bull. *eyeroll*

I liked The Walking Dead and I'll definitely be tuning in again. I was afraid that it would be either so uber-gory and/or disturbing that I'd squick out (sort of like spinning out, just not while in a car at high speeds, I suppose... ;) ) but, even though it's definitely not for the kiddies, I thought it was all handled well at this point. Of course, I don't know why none of the characters ever wore pants. I guess the Nikita ad department was in charge of dressing them? *ponders*

I'm totally kidding about that last part, of course. *gigglesnorts* ;) Ahem. Sorry 'bout that, couldn't resist... ;) ♥!

I did like it and I liked the last episode a lot. I really like Kenzi a lot more than I thought I would at the start. (Despite her creepy eyes. Do not lie, they are creepy!)

I liked The Walking Dead. It's slow, but it's AMC. It feels like an AMC show and that's an amazing accomplisment. I also found it absolutely terrifying.

As far as I know, it only has three other shows: Mad Men, Breaking Bad (see - that was too slow for me) and Breaking Bad (which I haven't tried).

YOU AREN'T THE ONLY ONE. I'm so tired of seeing these "spy" tv shows / movies where the female is always naked, or half-naked. That's not what real spies do, and they're only doing that to draw in the pervy little boys (and ladies), who enjoy seeing someone naked ALL THE TIME. (Which is most definitely not me.) I'm so glad you're revolting against the show, like I am. I thought I was the only one. D;

The Walking Dead way more than met my expectations! It was just intense enough, and so far it's staying true to the comic. I loved it and we had a house party to kick it off complete with homemade pizza.
