Wow I kinda really like this vid! Great job! And I really like what you did with the colors and everything. It makes a fanstastic atmosphere!

Thanks very much I'm glad you thought the coloring enhanced the atmosphere! Exactly the idea. (Which don't always turn out like we plan haha.) Awesome!

Wow, your way of cutting this gave me goosebumps a couple of times. The scenes and pace fit the song very well and I like the filter you used on the vid. Made it just this bit more creepy. Amazing work *mems*

BEAUTIFUL vid! I was hoping you'd provide a download link, I wanted to save it. I added it to my mems. The SK's really did go through the wringer, but I didn't feel they got the story they deserved. Love, Robin

They really! did go through the ringer. I also wished they would have gotten more of a story. So much potential, all of them. I'm so glad you liked what I did with their story here!

Ah, I'm sorry! You can download the video from zshare! Above the player should be a link to the download. I forget sometimes that that's not very clear.

I also added the HQ download above (about 58mbs). Here are those links so you don't have to go back searching:

Oh, man, this is spectacular. First, I've always loved this song, and I've never seen it used as well as you have here. The basic color effects, the blues and the grainy overlays and all, look wonderful and really contribute to the claustrophobia and the spiraling sense of wrongness.

I also - I love the psychic kids, I really do, and as much as I liked the finale I hated that it was basically 'hey, look at all these neat characters! Whoops, they're all dead now', and this is a great - well, sort of a tribute video? To all of them, and I like that you brought in as much scope as you could, like the baby of the woman Sam saw on the ceiling in his vision, and the guy Ava sees being stabbed in the parking lot. And the victims of each psychic kid - directly or indirectly harmed, and each kid's responsibility in it. (Did we ever get a better name than psychic kids/chosen children? It seems a little demeaning for a bunch of twenty-somethings, but I can't think of anything else. *grins*)

I also really, really like the overlay of the 'I will not kill' lines, and the lyric/clip choices here, like the 'my oh my's, and the 'you wash your hands' iteration at 1:58 with Sam and then - oh, god, this would be so much easier if I could remember anyone's name - the matching movements of Sam and - uh, Andy? All the moments like that, there's some wonderful internal movement here, like Ava and Sam being killed on the hard beats at 2:44-2:48-ish, and the occasional staccato cutting (like Ava in bed with her husband), which I'm always a sucker for. Sam's revival and return to the fight is really, really seamless, and I like that Dean wasn't highlighted there, this being really just the psychic kids' stories. Mary's death in the beginning is also very neatly, seamlessly done - that's cut between the Pilot and the, what, second season finale, right? It looks wonderful, and is a great introduction to a vid that really is the tying-together of a lot of disparate stories told in different episodes and timelines and often from different viewpoints.

The ending image, of Sam entirely alone in the dead town - ah, that's wonderful.

This is a really, really great vid, and I absolutely adore it. Thank you so much for making and sharing it!

You know, it really REALLY is demeaning that they're called the "chosen kids," or "psychic kids," etc. Even YED's Army sounds better hahaha.

Dude I'm stoked you noticed the overlays of "i will not kill." It was kind of a last minute idea and I am REALLY very pleased with the way it came out. So thanks for mentioning it!

And yes, the opening sequence is cut from both the pilot and AHBL Part 1. It was REALLY fun putting that together. Kind of gives a more complete picture of the whole thing.

I can't thank you enough for such a lovely thought-out comment. It means very much to me that you took the time to type all that out! That you noticed some things I hoped would come across etc. *feels very validated* Heheh.

Wow. Your coloring on this vid is off the charts! But the thing that, I think, truly creeped me out was how you put the "I shall not kill" over Sam's shooting Jake. That literally gave me the shivers!!

I'm snagging the HQ DL for my own enjoyment, because this is truly a work of art! Wonderful job! :D

Dude! I love this song! There's a wonderful Firefly video to this song! I can't believe you know about this song!

*stops making with the exclamation marks and breaks out the headphones*

Wow. That was awesome! I know I'm probably missing some significance in the whole scheme of things because I don't watch the show. However, I don't care. My favorite part was the sequence of close-ups of different characters in the beginning of the video.

ZOMG!
*wishes SO bad that I could've been around last night for this*
So, you know the first thing I did was download the nice, big, prettiful version.
I'm feelin the urge for a play-by-play with this one? That gonna work for you?

Okay, first of all I LOVE the beginning of Mary, definitely one of my favorite parts and a perfect way to start the vid! The blood dripping on the beat just makes me squee everytime! And I love the zooms in on each character after that.

'Time is ticking'?! Dude I really like the way you changed that. The watch looked cool, but those clocks look even more cool! Awesome!

0:33 I had to keep rewinding that part like a gazillion times because I just love the beat use there lol!

0:38 Oh Dean...oh the roadhouse...home?! Gah! Love that part! Also, I love that whenever you make a vid, there's just so much more behind it than a clip. Everything goes so much deeper and you interpret the lyrics in a way that no one else would ever be creative enough to do! That always blows me away when you make a vid!

The one minute mark, the first 'enemy's within'..love the clip you chose of Jake because, boy does he have some shit goin on in there! :D

1:33 - That 'lining up for the grand elusion', that's another one that's definitely one of my favorite parts, because you couldn't have chose a more perfect scene for that, it just gives me chills!

1:41 - ANDY! NO! But omg wonderful beat use, I love the back and forth between the close up and the regular shot and then the blood on the window at the end!! Ahh!

2:18 - That second part with Max, dude..just, and he fires the gun on the beat and it gives me crazy chills and that's another part I have to rewind and watch again because it's just so awesome!

2:45 - LOVE that part! love love that part, I especially love the way you cut Sam being killed, it's just that little tiny splice that makes all the difference, it just looks so awesome!

And you edited that ending part, with all the crazy like twelve different voices singing different melodies all at once, you edited it perfectly! I LOVE the 'will not kill' overlays, so so perfect! That was another part that I like squeed, pretty much out loud, cuz they look so cool. I love Sam killing Jake, again how it goes back and forth between the close up and not, and him ending up alllll alone. Oooohhhh.

The texture/coloring, that's a given, because I mean...absolutely amazing!

This vid...KC!! I love it!
You know what makes me sad though, I'm not gonna be allowed to vote on it at SVS. *sigh*
Anyhoo, I love you! :)

I wish you could have been too! But this way I get the play-by-play so it's somehow just as good!

I gotta say, the beginning was really fun to put together. At first, as you know I just had clips from AHBL I, but then I got the idea to go back to the pilot to add some more and YEAH. It was like a whole new world then!

Yeah, I was sad to say goodbye to Ash's arm. But you gotta do what you gotta do. That clip is actually taken from Simon Said, Andy's ep.

Re: Home/Dean/Roadhouse/MyGeneralAwesomeness, aw, baby, you know I feel the same way about you hahaha. Seriously. I think that is the ONE thing that kind of distinguishes my style so it makes me all gooey inside to know that that's your favorite thing about my vids. *squishes you*

Oh, Jake! I wanted you to be good!

I really love the way that Andy part turned out! Kind of an experimental, let's try this thing that worked better than I could have imagined.

Poor teary-eyed Max. We hardly knew ye!

Will not kill = last minute decision that I am SO glad I made. Yay for taking chances!

I love you too! (God, we are sick. LOL.

Thanks hon! I'm stoked so many people liked those overlays of the blackboard. I really liked their plot too and I wish it hadn't been dropped but I fear it has too. Apparently Kripke said something like, he killed the psychic kids because he was "bored" with them or something? I'm not sure. Hahah So... YEAH.

Wow, gorgeous vid. You fit the scenes with the music very well, but at the same time it all fit together as a whole. A lot of vids seem to have trouble with that. Also, I love the song. Would you mind uploading it? Any site is fine. :)

I totally agree. This was a blend of a lot of things. It was kind of like a multiple character study with some level of trying to tell their story as a whole as well and I am REALLY glad that came across when you watched it. That's very nice to hear!

:D

I'm uploading the song now so I'll respond again in a short while with a link!

Oh, I liked that a great deal. Particularly how much agency you gave the other special kids. It's not just the Winchesters' story, after all--it just seems that wy from the way the story is being told to us.

Excellent vid, thanks for sharing it!

It really isn't. I find the special kids' story really fascinating in that there were so many of them out there (and there are of other generations) and they all could have been such powerful, powerful allies. I'm sad it turned out the way it did but I think it does give the story more weight if you will. And THANK YOU for watching and commenting! It means a lot!

I fell in love with your SPN vids. They're beyond awesome - making the cut entry blew me away. And this one? Especially the ending, just GREAT. I did some vids myself and I must say it's a hard work. And you do it extremely good. And technical stuff in your vids - I have no words to describe that. I think you're my fav vidder. :)

I steered clear of SPN vids while I was working on my Wincon vid so I've only just caught this. I think you pulled off something amazing with this vid. It manages to show an angle of the show I hadn't really given much thought to. The way you stress connectivity between the YED's chosen ones and the YED himself. The way it addresses the extent to which they are responsible for their actions and how much was predetermined all makes me feel quite strongly for normally ignored characters.

It's a very clever vid with a lot of great pacing and a lot of substance to chew on.
