  • So I got a new layout for the first time in years. I am not sure how I feel about it but that is probably just anxiety because I haven't changed my layout (except for colors) literally in years. I also feel like the transparent backgrounds makes things load slower so I might just switch back anyway. But we'll see.

  • Don't forget, I've got FIC! and a VID! up for grabs at [livejournal.com profile] help_japan. I think you still have until the 26th to offer your talents or bid on the talents of others.

  • I watched "How Do You Know?" tonight with Paul Rudd and Reese Witherspoon. I'm not sure how I felt about it. It was a romantic comedy, had it's cute moments, but both of the lead characters were so strange, haha. I guess in that way they were perfect for each other. I don't know. I don't usually expect much of these types of movies so I'm able to enjoy them regardless of their possible badness. I definitely had fun watching it. Paul Rudd is cute. That's pretty much it.

  • I'm about halfway done with VMars s3. This re-watch has been super fun. When I watched the show originally I pretty much liked it from start to finish. I didn't have any of the issues that a lot of people seemed to have with seasons two and three. This is my very first re-watch, and I still feel the same. It's just something I enjoy. Bottom line.

  • Writer's block has hit me hard lately. I am working on something which will probably turn out to be a lot longer than what I usually post, but as for writing in general I'm just not having a good time of it for some reason. My goal for this week is to finish something, anything at all, that I actually like. And to post it!

  • Apparently Big Love ended tonight and I'm still about 5 episodes behind or so. Whoops!? I will try to catch up this week so I can read and participate in people's reaction posts as I assume there will be at least a few. It's definitely going to be weird saying goodbye to that crazy family!

Holy shit, I think you've had that layout since I've known you. But I like the brown and green theme here -- makes me think of spring and new growth. Is that weird or am I just on theme? lol

Sorry about the writer's block hun. I swear, if it's not a lack of time it's a lack of ideas or willpower. Always a lack of something and I'm totally at the same place -- though mine's more time based. Hope you break yourself out of it soon :)

Well I think this is going to be a short-lived layout. I just peeked at it at work and none of the backgrounds are loading so either it doesn't work in IE or something else is wrong with it.

Yeah I definitely think that's the reasons I picked the brown and green. The earthy/springy feel of it. So no that's not weird.

I think the bottom line is that I have been watching too much TV lately. Marathoning is hard work, haha. So I might just put a hiatus on my VMars re-watch and try to get some writing done this week. Maybe for every so many words I write I can watch one episode? Haha.

Yes, these are the important decisions in life.

I'm using IE (ugh, not my fault) and I think things are probably a little off-center in this browser but it's still, you know, usable. At least from this end. Or quite possibly it's because I don't know what it's supposed to look like and should just shut up lol.

Marathoning stuff tends to kill my will to write anything but the show that I'm marathoning since I get so wrapped up in that particular canon. Plus it takes up the entire day, haha. And hey, that's a good strategy; reward yourself :)

If you want to do me a huge favor you can look here:
http://community.livejournal.com/beatcrusher/14061.html

There's a preview image there and that's what the layout is supposed to look like. I have a feeling I'm going to be going back to the old one. I know most people use something other than IE, mostly Firefox, but I'd rather not have my journal be all funky in different browsers. This one was just growing on me too!

Yes yes! I love marathoning stuff but it's soooo distracting and all-consuming. I am going to forgo the Veronica Mars or any of the dozen or so movies I've DLed in the past week and try to write this afternoon. I've been home about 30 minutes or so, so I haven't wasted too much time.

Anyway, let me know about that preview image.

Okay then, no. That's not what I'm seeing. I'm seeing a solid brown background with green lettering and white headers. It really is fine in IE for like user friendliness.

Good luck with the writing!

Shoot! Square one, how I've missed you. I might ask the maker if they know how to make it compatible. If not I'll probably just go back to my old one. Sigh.

ETA I've just gone back to my old one. Cuz' it's just too difficult to deal with trying to make the other one compatible.

It was nice to pretend to change for a while at least. :(

:(

I'm sure you'll be able to find another one that works in all browsers.

I saw the other layout, and while it's a cute idea, you're right. The transparency always makes things load slower. Aim for something simple, when you want your layout changed. It's the best way to go. :)

I really liked the layout itself and I think it would have worked without the transparency -- which was its first downfall.

It's second downfall was that it didn't appear to work in IE, haha. So I'm back to the old one.

I've posted a few layouts at [livejournal.com profile] eightbarblues, if you're still looking for a new layout. And, you shouldn't be using IE, anyway. It's evil. :P

At home I don't -- but elsewhere it's a different story. And other people do, so I'd rather not go with something that isn't at least mostly compatible.

I'll check out your layouts. Although now I'm gunshy lol.

Ohhh. I was going to say. Hehe. Only know one person who willingly uses IE, and nothing I do makes her change her mind. I'm hoping she won't get a virus, but I can almost guarantee she will. IE is just.. bad.

Don't be! It's all about trial, and error. You'll do great. ♥ (And, I make sure all my layouts work on Safari, Firefox, and IE. So, I know those should be fine. Just in case someone I know isn't using the same browser I am.)
