[i love you] where's my shirt?

ETA: Just to clarify.
slybrunette and I were chatting earlier and we were both wondering whether or not there was something wrong with us that we can't recall using this phrase in dialogue and that we can't imagine doing it because it seems so cheesy when we write it or think of writing it -- in our brians. Hence, poll.

Date: 2011-03-23 02:34 pm (UTC)Over all, I think we get enough "I love you's" or tell-y expressions like that in canon. In fanfic I'd much rather deal with (and read about) the actions that say so much more than words ever could. Or the inarticulate words that say more than those pat expressions ever could, at least.

Date: 2011-03-24 04:17 am (UTC)Yeah maybe that's the thing. It's definitely used in most canon shows. And so maybe that is where my aversion to it comes from? Not that I don't find it convincing in the show, but yeah -- it's just too, I don't know, too defined? LOL.
I like my angsty smut with a side of ambiguity? I don't even know.
