SO EXCITED! Peter Sarsgaard looks so freaking badass and scary. HOLDER IN HIS SUIT! I absolutely cannot wait. We're getting the band back together!

SO EXCITED! And yes, LINDEN. I just need it in my eyeballs now. It's hard to complain about having to wait when it was saved from cancellation and I should feel lucky that it's coming back at all. But man, June feels so far away.

When they saved it I was so happy I promised myself I'm not going to complain, I'll just enjoy and keep my fingers crossed that it's great and there will be more. But the waiting, that's a good kind of complaining, the closer to the premiere we get I'm become more impatient, I just want them all back on my screen. I wonder how it's going to be without Rosie and her family and Richmond.

I think the show will only be bettered by the absence of the Larsens and even Richmond and Gwen. When the show was saved and they said there would be no Larsen family, that made perfect sense to me. And for the purposes of this show, their purpose and their story is over. When they said there would be no Richmond, I had to scratch my head at that one because of all the corruption, especially there at the end. But I also felt like without him gone it would only feel like a continuation of the Larsen case in a sense. So I'm pretty stoked about the fact that the only through line we'll be getting in season 3 is Linden, Holder, and possibly their respective families (even though I haven't heard anything about that either.)

I wouldn't be opposed to a tension-filled cameo by either the Larsen or Richmond camp though.

Oh, I absolutely agree with you, the Larsen story is over and it wouldn't make much sense for them to appear in the new season and I'm excited to see new characters and relationships. What I was trying to say is, we got so used to them, they were an integral part of the world the show created (not like in procedurals when case takes one episode and the characters are never mentioned again) and on some level I'm gonna miss them, especially Rosie who was one of my favorite characters even though we got to see so little of her. So I wonder what this new The Killing is going to be, it's a little bit like starting a new show.

I'd really like to see more of Richmond. I don't think his story is really over and a guest appearance in two or three eps would be perfect.

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT ROSIE! I had so many feelings about her that I had to write fic AND make a fanmix, lol. Loved her so much. Which is a true testament to how brilliant this show is. How does a show make you love a character who has never been on screen alive? It just BLOWS MY MIND.

on the one hand, it looks like they're turning it into another serial killer show ("17 victims and counting"), which... eh. some bandwagons you really don't need to jump on. and i was kinda disappointed in the case and resolution thereof last season. all the plotting just made me scratch my head. but on the other hand, holder! and linden! together again! i've randomly seen mireille enos a couple times in random shows as i was flipping channels, and i keep thinking "it's linden! ...wait." so it will be nice to see her actually as linden. and i really, really like holder. and i like his very platonic relationship with her and her kid. and i like watching them work together. so i'm kinda stoked for that.

The only serial killer shows I can think of are Dexter and The Following, which both seem to be of a completely different format so I don't really feel like it's a bandwagon.

Besides I actually have a lot of faith in Veena Sud as a showrunner because I actually found the unraveling in seasons 1&2 of the Larsen case to be riveting and the ending especially to be mostly brilliant. (There were a lot of false leads, but to me that just seemed realistic, other than the fact that those leads themselves were ALL fairly dramatic, which I'm sure is unrealistic.)

As for Holder and Linden, well... I ship it like burning, but that's not a surprise to anyone.

MAN IT LOOKS SO GOOD! I am still in a state of shock that it got picked up for a second season. Fingers crossed for a better reception this time around. I, for one, am super excited to see these guys back on my screen. And it looks totally terrifying. WOOHOO!

Haven't been on LJ for months and I check my f-list for the first time in awhile and see this. And omg, I almost cried. I don't know how or why but The Killing is just one of my favorite shows right now. I am just so invested in Linden and Holder and anything they do. I may come back to lj regularly when this show comes back so I can squee with someone. ANYONE.

It's not in this trailer, but re: the season 3 teaser AMC has been using: I really loved how they recycled that shot from last season of Linden with Holder walking into frame. I think it was when they revisited the site where her sweater was first found. Just the silence and weight of it was such a perfect way to build anticipation for the new season, especially the way it focuses on what truly matters: their partnership. I'm literally getting goosebumps as I write this. ha.

Unfortunately we don't get Netflix in NZ! But we only got S1 last year on free to air, so maybe we'll get S2 this year. I'll get to S3 eventually... ;-)
