on the one hand, it looks like they're turning it into another serial killer show ("17 victims and counting"), which... eh. some bandwagons you really don't need to jump on. and i was kinda disappointed in the case and resolution thereof last season. all the plotting just made me scratch my head. but on the other hand, holder! and linden! together again! i've randomly seen mireille enos a couple times in random shows as i was flipping channels, and i keep thinking "it's linden! ...wait." so it will be nice to see her actually as linden. and i really, really like holder. and i like his very platonic relationship with her and her kid. and i like watching them work together. so i'm kinda stoked for that.
The only serial killer shows I can think of are Dexter and The Following, which both seem to be of a completely different format so I don't really feel like it's a bandwagon.
Besides I actually have a lot of faith in Veena Sud as a showrunner because I actually found the unraveling in seasons 1&2 of the Larsen case to be riveting and the ending especially to be mostly brilliant. (There were a lot of false leads, but to me that just seemed realistic, other than the fact that those leads themselves were ALL fairly dramatic, which I'm sure is unrealistic.)
As for Holder and Linden, well... I ship it like burning, but that's not a surprise to anyone.
