krickets: (ACT. nina; tough chick #1)
I finally updated my website after years. Why did I do this? Because LJ Scrapbook has been loading images so slowly lately. I don't know if it's just been doing that especially for me or if it's an overall problem, but I was sick of it and wanted to post some wallpapers tonight and decided to actually use the web space that I pay for.

I finally bit the bullet and taught myself how to use Word Press, which is remarkably easy compared to how difficult I thought it would be. And anyway, here it is:

Every Damn Thing Dot Net

I went ahead and uploaded my vid archive and posted a few test posts along with my two latest vids. I'm going to close down my vid site and just use my main site for vids. Since apparently vidding is something I actually do now again? I think?

I feel weirdly productive today, considering I hadn't touched that index page since first setting it up forever ago. There's probably some other crap I need to link to and some other things I can do but thinking about it just makes me more sleepy than I already am.

Updated the layout at stupid-happy videos.
Too bad I haven't made a video since March! MARCH. I can't believe it's been so long.

Something I've noticed about the Olympics: the United States wins a lot of medals. Okay, duh. But I've been reading through my flist and as a multi-cultural bunch, it's so wonderful to see different perspectives on the games from people all around the world. In the U.S. our viewpoint is completely reversed. It seems that we simply expect to win gold and a lot of it. And because of that, in a big way, each medal earned is quickly forgotten.

I'm not that much of a sports fan to begin with, so I haven't been paying close attention. But throughout the games, the few times I've had a chance to watch, I tend to find myself rooting for the "other guy." I do find the games inspiring and I am proud of my country when we do well, but maybe I'm just a sucker for the underdog. For example? I really really wanted somebody to upset Michael Phelps. I mean, could you imagine the kind of local hero that guy would become? The guy who beat the seemingly unbeatable guy? It would be epic.

A:: 30% less plastic. (But wouldn't that just be an eco-bottle? How can something be eco-shaped? I want answers, Deer Park!)

She said whaaaat?

My Video Site up at my new site Everydamnthing.net! I hope to get all my vid-entries edited with the links to the downloads soon. But the site is ready and raring to go!

I'm a bit hesitant about the fact that I've compressed all the vids in WinRar. But... I think that's okay, right? Right? The whole point of getting the webspace was to have a place to host my own videos, in addition to some future projects I may have in mind. The site itself is more of a... by-product if you will. So I wanna get the "hosting" part right. I thought, WinZip, WinRar, what's the difference? It's all the same! I don't even have WinZip on my computer. It was only after I had already uploaded all of the vids when I began to think maybe I should have zipped them instead. Thoughts?

And lest you think I've forgotten!

Sorry there are no goodies today. I'm beat after all that coding! But we've still got to count down!

His frakkin' fast clap. He had to leave it somewhere . . .

Inspired by another shared fanart journal, [livejournal.com profile] possibleruby, and these two posts 1 & 2, by [livejournal.com profile] slodwick & [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis Dayln and I decided it was high-time to throw down.

And when I say, "Dayln and I," I mean Dayln, because she is the brains of this operation anyway, and you should probably know that sooner or later.

We each picked around ten pictures and screencaps, and have challenged each other to make a single icon from each one. (Well, I picked eleven because I'm special that way and thus can't count.) So without further ado, or adon't, may I present to you:

PS - Once, one of you lovely flisters had just come back from a trip to New York and in your post you said that you loved New York better than any t-shirt could ever express. I said I wanted to put it on an icon, and you said go for it. But, I can't remember who that was! *hides* In my defense that was probably something like six months ago. Haha. Lemme know if it was you!
