Satire? Y/Y?

ETA: This popped up on my flist today. But I think it was written in December? I wonder why all the sudden attention?

HA. God, that would be the greatest satire ever.

It's not so much that it's a fairly biased, polarized, narrow view of a subject, because everyone is entitled to that. It's that she isn't giving anyone else a chance to give thier possibly biased, polarized, narrow view of the opposite side.

And I like that she got literal, non-subjective facts wrong. "This bunch of criminals go around stealing things and generally doing lots of violence." Yep, that right there is Firefly. Or... wait a second.

And that some of the people agreeing with her haven't even seen FF.

See, I'm just bored enough with my break right now that I would consider watching the entire series and writing my own series of essays, that maybe like, explore both sides of the arguement. And yes, then do one for BSG. Just cause. (actually, that might even be more interesting, since i have some honest issues with male and female characters on that show, love it as i do).

Hee! Right? She's basically said that she'll delete your comment if you disagree with her. She doesn't want discussion, she's not interested in exploring other points of view, she's interested in having people agree with her. YAY! Delusion!

I'd like to hear your thoughts on BSG in a separate meta. I generally can't fault it, but then again I have blinders on.

My fingers are going to be bleeding by the time I'm done with this stuff. Because I want to honestly examine this issue with FF and BSG.

(and while we're on the subject of discrimination, let's all have a chat about how the male characters on both these shows are portrayed, mmmkay? oh, but wait, there's no such thing as misandry >_>)

No. Not at all. Men are universally worshipped by women and each other. (Hence all the slash. Amiright?)
