She's not even reading between the lines. She's just reading the lines. Hahaha. Joss is notoriously sarcastic, as is his work. You can't take every word his characters say at face value. Which, I can't even believe I just typed that, because seriously? Does a person need to be told that? Apparently she does. But, it's pretty fucking obvious if you ask me.

So when a female character chooses to use her sexuality as power... this person gets all up in arms and says she's being raped. Her feminism is empowering, yet this person wants to demean it simply because she doesn't agree with her actions?

That's so what it comes down to. What about intent? Does any of that matter. What a character wants or chooses, which is often shown to us on screen one way or another, doesn't matter?

She talks about marriage and how the woman cleans up the man's mess, always subservient, but what about mutual emotional support? Can that exist? Just... *speechless*

Oh, no, not as a post to her comment. I know it would be a wasted effort on someone so close-minded. I just mean in general. Like, there's a need for balance to set the world right again. LOL

You mention emotional support - that's another one that killed me:

Last time I checked, friendship wasn't a paying gig. And if it is, compensation is offered through mutual friendship and compassion.
