So you will forgive me for believing that the character, Wash, is a rapist and an abuser, particularly considering that he treats Zoe like an object and possession.

Yeah, what about Zoe treating him that way. I seem to recall her dragging him by the shirt back to their room to have sex with him. Seems like she sees him as an object as well. Mutual abuse?
