Unpopular Opinions You Didn't Ask For
May. 19th, 2009 10:34 pmI'm pretty notorious for having the least popular opinions you can have in fandom. I'm not sure why. And it's not as though I'm trying, it just is, you know? It would be far easier for me if this weren't the case. I am this way because Jacob made me this way, by the way.
PROOF
→ I can't bring myself to write and [generally] don't desire to read 80-90% of canon pairings. It's a disease. Which may or may not be contagious. *coughs on you*
I can't help it that I chronically multi-ship. My motto? Make me believe. That is all I ask. [I'm not sure if that part is terribly unpopular.]
→ [I often still enjoy the canon representations of the pairings that I don't read/write in fic.]
→ We've discussed my relationship with Juliet from Lost, yes? Everyone loves her. Me, not so much. [I also had major issues with Charlie, Ben, and Locke.]
→ The same goes for Eric from True Blood. And the Sookie Stackhouse book series. And I'm on book four. I'm pretty sure he's the most popular character next to Sookie herself.
→ Everyone seems to be really liking Glee. Whereas I watched the first half-hour the other day and quit halfway through, call it lack of sleep mixed with lack of interest. Maybe the 2nd half makes up for it?
→ If my phone hadn't died I'd still be voting for Kris Allen. Have I mentioned I don't actually watch the show?
→ I prefer Ronon/Sheppard to McShep. [But I still like McShep!]
→ Misha Collins kind of gives me the heebs. Fine, I said it! [Feel free to use icons of him when you respond to this post, Dayl.]
→ I am sure there's more I can't think of at the moment. How does one pick examples from their perpetual state of being? It all just runs together. I'm damn contrary, okay?

Date: 2009-05-20 04:55 pm (UTC)If I watched the shows you watched, I'm sure I'd have similar feelings myself. I think it comes from free thinking.
You know I heart unconventional ships, right? I don't know of anyone else who's as crazy about THE CLAWN as I am, and that's my favorite.

Date: 2009-05-20 05:19 pm (UTC)Several of the potentials could have had a little more... potential, that is.
I also didn't hate Kennedy. I don't know why everyone hated her so much. In my opinion it was mostly backlash about Tara. I even put Kennedy in my girlpower vid, heh. Her character (and that relationship) wasn't perfect, but she wasn't deserving of all the hate either.

Date: 2009-05-21 03:16 am (UTC)There just wasn't enough time to develop most of those potentials, sadly. Amanda the Geek was one fine exception, and she was my favorite of the potentials. Which of course just made me all the more bitter when Joss killed her and let that bitch Rona live. lol
It was backlash over Tara, and also I think people felt the whole thing was rushed. The potentials didn't show up right away, and then there were more important storylines to develop... whatever. If two girls want to get off together, I say let 'em. They can always develop a meaningful relationship after the world's been saved.
I hope this is coherent. I'm a bit tired, and my feet hurt.
